Week at a glance in room 112!

Monday, December 16 – Pyjama Day
Tuesday, December 17- Twin Day
Wednesday, Decemeber 18- Sports Day
Thursday, December 19- Festive Wear Day

This Thursday is Clairlea Spirit Day! The students and I have decided that it would be grand to have a party in the afternoon to celebrate our time together, our ups and downs, and to send best wishes for a wonderful winter break and an excellent start to the New Year. Everyone is invited to wear purple to school for the day. I will bring some treats for everyone and would be delighted if families wanted to send in some additional food items.
However, due to some student dietary restrictions, please do not send in foods containing the following ingredients:
-          nuts of any kind
-          eggs
-          soy
-          gelatin
In addition, before going home for the break, students will receive a homework package for Mathematics and Language practice, as well as the new dictée words for Friday, January 10th, 2014.

Un grand merci!

Les Indestructibles (The Incredibles)

Dear parents/guardians,
On Friday, November 29, we watched the movie ''Les Indestructibles''  (The Incredibles) for our Superhero Day event. The students enjoyed inventing their own superhero and watching the video in the afternoon. As part of this week's homework, students were asked to read their level book, but to write a report on the movie instead.
Here is the format to be written in the students' homework cahier :
Qui sont les personnages principaux?
Où est-ce que le film se situe?
Quand est-ce que les événements se passent?
Quel est le probème?

Voici la bande-annonce!

Extended deadline for Animal Science Project - Dec. 9

Dear parents/guardians,
I have decided to extend the Animal Science Project due date to Monday, December 9, 2013. A few students were absent on Friday, Nov. 29 and were unable to take their Science duotangs and shoe boxes (dioramas) home to complete over the weekend. During this week, I will go over the rubric, research websites, how to complete an effective research paper, and what to look for in a presentation. Following the presentation, students will complete a self-assessment and a peer-assessment.

In the meantime, please take a look at the hard-working students in Room 112!
Bonne continuation!
