The Grade 1 French
Immersion classes enjoyed a spectacular day at the Ontario Science Centre on
Thursday, May 25th.
As we arrived, we entered
the realm of science and came face to face with thousands of fascinating
machines, apparatuses, and interesting facts.
We traveled through the escalators
and descended each level of the center to discover it layer by layer. A few children
were up for becoming builders at the KidSpark using multi-material tables,
magnified materials, and much more!
Then, we were ready to
watch the much anticipated Omnimax Imax film entitled “Dream Big”. The film
inspired the students to think outside the box and to reflect on creative
solutions for problems our world may have.
Finally, we participated in
a workshop and learned about the characteristics of energy and its usages
through various objects (e.g., thermal hand imaging, catapult, balloon, etc.).
A big thank you to the wonderful parent
volunteers who came along. Your help was much appreciated!
