Social Studies Project - Qui Que Tu Sois!

Dear parents/guardian,
Last week, your child received an outline and a rubric of the Social Studies project due Monday, March 31st. This week, your child was sent with the written report to complete at home. There is no reading package for this week, as the bulk of the homework is the completion of the project. Students were given time to begin the project in class and were presented with two exemplars of Level 3 and Level 4 projects. Please help your child complete the following:

1. Bristol board - Fill with pictures, maps, flags, etc.

2. Written report-  Respond to questions in full sentences and must be written in child's own words.
The written report must include the following information.
- Country name
- Country flag
- Country description (weather, famous places and currency)
- 2 Celebrations
- 1 Favourite dish (ingredients, steps to prepare the dish and picture of the dish)
- Cultural clothing
- Other interesting information: Is the country a Kingdom? What products are made from this country in Canada? What do the colours/symbols of the flag represent?

3. Paper bag- Add interesting items to present to the class.

Here are examples of items that can be added in the paper bag.

Currency
Rocks
Artistic work
Jewelry
Crafts

Products sold in Canada
Newspaper

Optional- Students may wear the cultural clothing of the country on the day of the presentation.

The students are excited to present their projects. I look forward to viewing all of their tremendous work!
Bonne continuation :)
